Henry's First Santa
One of our best friends has an annual Christmas party. This was Henry's first Christmas so, his first Santa! Thanks Tom!
Like father, like son!
Why does Santa smell like booze?
After the party, a sign of things to come?
Origami Presents
When I was teaching, I really began to enjoy origami. The kids really liked to do it also. It is amazing what you can do with a small piece of paper. So, this Christmas I decided to add a little extra origami touch to some of the presents.
Cranes
This was just a nice tree ornament.

Seriously!
This would be awesome if you were having a little Christmas party, but seriously, this would have to be if you have extra time on your hands. Find all the directions and downloadable pdf at not martha.

Homemade Ornaments
Being a new family and with neither one of us having done much Christmas decorating when we were single, Dave and I are severely lacking in cool ornaments to decorate the tree. I found a cool idea to make your own ornaments, so we made some using things we found around the house. Pretty soon we will have lots of our own little family traditions and each ornament will have a story.
Dave made this one with some little trees I bought at Michael's and flour.

Lego Punch Paper Sets
Man, sometimes I really miss being an art teacher. Especially when I come across cool projects like this one. I used to raise my nose at "crafty" projects. One smart little first grader used to always come into class and say, "What crafts are we doing today?" After a quick cringe, I would say, "Savannah, we do not do crafts, we do Art!" Then after awhile, I realized there are some really cool crafty things to do out there! Check this one out at Odeedoh and the more realistic homemade project at FilthWizardry.

Etsy Finds
Etsy is such a great forum for artisans and unique handmade gifts. I try and support these artists when I can rather than go to the stores. I'll post some of the Etsy finds that I especially like when I come across them. Here is some beautiful and unique jewelry by Sprout Online.

Thanksgiving 2009
Every Thanksgiving our whole family goes to a ranch in the hill country. It's a special time where all the cousins get to play and we ride horses, take walks and watch lots of football. This year Henry was introduced to all his new cousins and family members and was the newest addition to the family photo we take every year. Yep, lots to be thankful for!
The ranch has a little ghost town you can walk to and they have dancing in their saloon.
